AI Strategy Playbook Session

Is it the right idea, and has it been thought through?

Most organisations arrive at AI with an idea already formed. Usually it came from a vendor, a conference, or a peer organisation that announced something. This engagement starts by testing that idea rather than accepting it.

Two half-day sessions, with a written playbook developed between them. £12,500, led personally by our founder.

What the session tests

Three questions run through it.

01
Is this the right thing to be doing at all?
Not whether AI could be applied, but whether this application is the one worth the capital, the governance load and the risk. Almost every organisation can find somewhere to put AI. Far fewer have established which use case earns the effort.
02
Has the full extent of it been thought through?
Most AI ambitions are scoped as a technology decision and turn out to be a data, process, contractual and accountability decision as well. The session surfaces what has not yet been considered, while it is still cheap to consider it.
03
What would have to be true for it to work?
Which is where the honest answer is often about the asset record rather than the model. Establishing that before procurement is considerably cheaper than discovering it afterwards.

The deliverable

A written playbook, not a workshop summary.

The playbook is drafted after the first session and revised after the second, so it reflects what the second group of people said rather than only the first. It covers:

  • The plausible futures your organisation should be planning against
  • The decisions that hold up across all of them
  • The decisions that only work in some, and what they depend on
  • What to monitor, so you know which future is actually arriving
  • Where your current thinking would not survive contact with any of them
Why two sessions

A single session risks ending the same way most do: someone observes that the people who have to operate the thing were not in the room. The second session puts the draft playbook in front of them, which is where most of its value is created.

Scope

What it is not.

It is not a technology selection exercise. Brainwave Asset Intelligence holds no reseller agreement, partnership or commercial relationship with any AI or asset management vendor, so nothing in the playbook is shaped by anything we would prefer to sell.

It is not an assessment of your data. The session tests the thinking, not the asset record. Where the playbook identifies that a use case depends on asset data you cannot currently stand behind, that is a Foundation Readiness Assessment, scoped separately from £24,500.

It does not extend to frontline, clinical, citizen-facing or operational technology systems. Our work in regulated sectors covers back-office, built-estate, infrastructure and facilities asset management. That boundary is published and we hold to it.

Next step

Bring the idea. We will test it.

If there is an AI ambition on your agenda and no independent view of whether it is the right one, this is the engagement that establishes that before capital is committed and before the technology is procured.
